NOTICE

To Students and Parents,

Under the guidelines provided by our Governor’s New York Forward plan, and in consideration for the health of students and staff, we have made the following decisions for the Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 semesters.

**SPRING 2020 PARENTS & STUDENTS**

The remaining classes for the Spring 2020 semester have been cancelled. For students who are currently enrolled in our Spring 2020 semester, there are two options provided:

  1. Make-up Classes: Students who wish to make up all the classes that were cancelled during the Spring 2020 semester will get the chance to do so during the Spring 2021 semester. If students decide to choose this option, please keep in mind that the make-up classes will be the same classes that students are enrolled in for the Spring 2020 semester.
  2. Credit: Students will be provided credit for the cancelled Spring 2020 classes due to Covid-19.
    1. For every 1.5 hour course each student is enrolled in, he/she will be credited $200 for future classes. For example, students taking a Math and an English class (3 hours total) will be credited $400.
    2. This credit can be used towards the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, or Summer 2021 semester, and can be applied towards the class of the student’s choice at the time of registration.

Please provide us your decision by Sunday, July 5, 2020 through the following link: https://forms.gle/gQSahJySHgRH4aF6A.

**FOR SUNDAY SAT TEST & GO OVER STUDENTS: For students enrolled in the SAT Sunday Test & Go Over course, make-up testing for all cancelled test and go over sessions will be available for the Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 semester.

**SUMMER 2020 PARENTS & STUDENTS**

The Summer 2020 classes have been cancelled. For students who are already registered for this session, there are two/three options provided:

  1. Credit: Students who wish to attend classes at a later time will receive full credit.
    1. Students will receive the total paid tuition in credit to be used for future classes.
    2. This credit can be used towards the Fall 2020, Spring 2021, or Summer 2021 semester, and can be applied towards the class of the student’s choice at the time of registration.
  2. Withdrawal: Students who wish to completely withdraw from classes will be refunded 85% of the paid tuition.
    1. Refunds will be made after our office is open to public.
  3. Online Course: (**This option is available for SHSAT and SHSAT students ONLY!) For the Summer 2020 semester, we will be offering virtual online classes for SHSAT (Specialized High School Admissions Test) and SAT students. These classes will be taught through an online live video session by our teachers.
    1. Online classes will run from Monday, July 6th to Friday, August 14th. Classes will be in session from Mondays thru Fridays, 9:00am – 12:00pm.

Please provide us your decision by Sunday, July 5, 2020 through the following link: https://forms.gle/BPSjcs7feSDPm57L6.

UPDATE: The placement exam that was scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd is cancelled until further notice. We will provide updates if anything changes.

Beginning Saturday, April 4th, we will be switching to a remote learning system. To provide parents and students more information on how to access the platform, we require that all students/parents update their contact information as soon as possible through the following link:
https://forms.gle/sHdFdQhNdTRk7Med7.
We require just one email per student. If parents have more than one child taking classes, please provide a different email for each child.

Online learning is an additional resource due to parents’ request. It is not a replacement of classes.

Please feel free to check out the following online educational resources.

To Students and Parents,
The health of each of you is of primary importance to us. The uncertainty of the evolving coronavirus outbreak has many concerned. We are monitoring developments of this outbreak on a daily basis and are considering how it might impact our activities. As a precaution, we will be closed from Saturday, March 14th to Sunday, March 29th. Our goal is to resume classes as soon as possible. We will follow the guidance and advice provided by the New York State Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control. At the end of March, we will reassess the situation and keep you updated. Please follow the link (
https://forms.gle/sHdFdQhNdTRk7Med7 ) to update your information so that we can provide you with the most recent information.
In the meantime, please take precautions to keep yourselves healthy and protect other members of our community.
Most importantly, we as that if you or your child has a cold or runny nose, fever, or anything else that causes you concern, please stay home until full recovery has taken place in order to ensure that everyone remains healthy.

Steps that we are taking at Mega:
* Cleaning door handles, bathrooms, etc., with disinfectant solutions, and wiping down public surfaces at regular intervals
* Promoting hand washing and healthy hygiene practices among our students and staff
* Making sure that hand sanitizer is readily available
* Sending home students or staff who appear to have symptoms of the virus

The following are the best practices to avoid contracting this illness and many others:
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs are spread this way
* Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, and be sure to throw it out immediately. (*When a tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow.)
* Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects including frequently touched surfaces at home, work, or school, especially when someone is ill. Wash your hands for 20 seconds.
* Washing hands often under clean, running water can help prevent the spread of germs.

Thank you for your continued support of Mega Academy.
Wishing everyone the best of health.
